Air Travel
Accommodations
There are a variety of accommodations available in Daajing Giids and Skidegate. Some are further from the event venue, so be sure to select an option based on preferences for distance! A few options are listed below.
Car Rental Options
We are working on providing a shuttle service to and from the airport, accommodations, and workshop venue, however this is still being confirmed. If you wish to secure your own vehicle, below are some options:

- Travel costs will be reimbursed for the most economical form of travel (air, train, bus, car, hotel) and accommodation up to a maximum of $1,200 per person for one pre-registered delegate per BC First Nation. Additional delegates may attend the workshop, but no further travel expenses will be covered.
- Note: the higher travel reimbursement amount for the 2024 CCP Workshop is an exception and does not set any precedents for future CCP Workshop travel stipend amounts.

- Students and invited organizations will cover their own travel costs for the workshop.
- Participants are responsible for requesting reimbursement from Sa̱nala Planning by submitting a Travel Expense Claim with original receipts within 30 days of travel.
- Participants are responsible for making all reservations, including any changes and cancellations.
- Costs resulting from changes in plans or cancellations (e.g. no-show fees) will not be reimbursed.
- If you intend to use your own car to travel to the workshop, you will be reimbursed for the number of kilometres between your residence and the workshop at the rate of $0.70 per kilometre. No other expenses will be reimbursed for travel in a private vehicle (e.g. fuel). Any travel by personal vehicle more than 400 km return (200 km each way) should be pre-authorized by Sa̱nala, and will be accepted as a means of travel only if it is less expensive than other means of transportation (e.g. air, train, bus). The $1,200 maximum travel reimbursement per person still applies.
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on both workshop dates, October 8th & 9th. Any additional meal purchases made during the CCP Workshop will be reimbursable, up to the $1,200 maximum travel reimbursement on the travel claim form.
- Travel advances will not be issued.
Sa̱nala Planning will not reimburse the following costs:
- Any expenses not specifically referenced in this letter without prior approval from Sa̱nala;
- Incremental costs due to a change of plans or cancellation by the participant.

Air Travel
- Vancouver (YVR) to K’il Kun Xidgwangs Daanaay (Sandspit – YZP) with Air Canada
- For those flying from afar, flying to Sandspit via Air Canada is your best option.
- Requires transit from YZP to Skidegate and back via ferry so make sure to get your reservation on Gwaii Taxi who can take you to and from Daajing Giids and Skidegate!
- Plan to arrive at least a day before the event at least as flights arrive in the afternoon.
- Plan to depart at least a day after the event ends as transit to the airport can take a time due to ferry schedules.
- Travel to Massett with Pacific Coastal (only within BC)
- Requires transit to Skidegate so plan accordingly!
